This is a leadership Position where the individual is responsible for managing the software development and operations of Chennai Development Centre of Newgen. The individual is:
Responsible for end to end delivery of multiple projects using Newgen Products & Solutions across different geographies, meeting all required functionality, and within allocated schedule and budget.
Planning and executing the strategy to improve delivery processes and compliance
Ensuring proper budgeting and cost control
Building competency and succession planning at next 2 levels to ensure effective utilization of resources and thereby improving productivity.
Ensuring operations run smoothly and quick decision making in cases of eventualities to contain losses.
Driving cross functional task forces / assignment and works closely with key stakeholders to meet the companys business goals and targets.
Driving programs to develop leadership and managerial capability
Responsible for monitoring local expenses in conjunction with other support services like HR, Admin, Hardware support, Finance, etc.

Desired Candidate Profile
Engineering degree in preferably in Computer Science,IT/ MCA, MTech from a good institute with First class throughout academic career.
17-20 years experience in S/W development across a wide variety of development projects, out of which 5 years in project management and people management.
PMP or PMI certification is desirable.
Domain knowledge of BFSI/ BPM/ ECM/ CCM/ DMS practices is desirable.
Knowledge of current technological trends in the S/W development industry, such as OOPs, Multi-Tier S/W development, Component Architecture, Web Based S/W
Good experience on Core Java, JSP, Servlets, EJB, Oracle/SQL.
Responsible for the end to end delivery. Ensuring that Project Delivery Metrics are controlled throughout the project lifecycle. Tracking project requirements implementation throughout different phases of the project lifecycle.
Knowledge of system integration issues.
Thorough understanding of Project Management methodologies and tools.
Ability to gather and analyze data and draw logical conclusions
Managerial Leadership & Personal Skills:
Understanding the companys vision and goals, business operations and market.
Experience of planning, budgeting and quality assurance as it relates to S/W development projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships at all levels.
Ability to inspire, train and mentor and lead the team.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize customer requests with the assistance of other managers to ensure the highest level of service possible to the customer.
Ability to write performance evaluations, issue counseling forms and disciplinary actions, handle employee complaints and grievances and recommend the hiring, termination and promotion of staff.
